MEI LLC Announces Upgrade and Retrofit of Two SCP (Santa Clara Plastics) Wet Processing Systems
Albany, OR. October 15, 2008
– MEI LLC Announces a significant new order for a major repeat customer in the Pacific Northwest. A major client has engaged MEI LLC to completely retrofit two SCP (Santa Clara Plastics) fully-automated, used semiconductor batch wet processing systems. MEI will perform a complete controls system upgrade and process bath switch in the existing equipment footprint, providing an extended life for the existing equipment, sparing the client a fab redesign. MEI will be deploying its proprietary IDX Automation Software in the retrofit of this equipment; removing the proprietary I/O in favor of standard PLCs. In addition, MEI will be using a PC to improve the HMI interface, providing better troubleshooting capabilities while simplifying the electrical system to improve maintenance and reliability . The completed system will enable easy to load, internet delivered, software upgrades.
MEI’s proprietary SECS/GEM compliant IDX control Automation Software is extremely flexible and ideal for many different types of equipment where sophisticated user interface capabilities are required. MEI’s IDX automation software is able to streamline processes and provide unparalleled ease of use while maintaining uptime and reliability. The operator’s touch screen interface employs easy-to-setup, flexible recipe programming, combined with manual and semi-auto operational control of valves/I/O points to ease maintenance and process changes. IDX motion control software is shipped with all new MEI Wet Process Systems, most MEI Chemical Delivery Systems, and it can be used to upgrade most any non-MEI wet system as well as standalone spin/rinse dryers .IDX is also available for purchase/use under a license agreement.
